Hi, I’m McKenzie Stuetzel.

A little about me

I’m located in the Greater Boston area. I’m typically wondering about what new place to explore or what to create next. My adventures inspire my art, so I make it my duty to have a balance between work and play. I’m currently working at PUMA located in Somerville, MA. I am also working as a freelance artist, and on the side, I’m working on personal creative content. Follow me on Instagram and TikTok to check out my latest work!

Where it started

I was the kind of kid that didn’t like sharing my coloring books. I was the student drawing in my notebook while others were studious or goofing off. I was the girl that didn’t know how to communicate my feelings, so I created it. I don’t remember the first thing I ever artistically produced; all I know is that it’s the one thing that makes me feel like me. All my life, I have been surrounded by people who encourage me to follow my dream, to follow where the art takes me. I’m genuinely grateful to have a robust support system in my life and individuals who see my art as something more.

BFA

I began my college years at Holyoke Community College, where I graduated with an associate's degree in Graphic Design (2015). I then transferred to the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I finished my BFA with a concentration in Printmaking (2017).

Internship

Following college, I was selected through an application process for a 6-month internship at Zea Mays Printmaking in Florence, MA. There I provided assistance to teachers that held workshops at the facility. I also researched and documented a new printmaking process called Photographic Silk Aquatint with another intern.

BLTees Inc.

After attending college, I used the knowledge I gained from school and integrated it into my new job at BLTees, located in Palmer, MA. For four years, I worked as a screen printer and part-time graphic designer at BLTees.

When I wasn’t putting in the hours working, I created my own designs to put on t-shirts and other apparel. Sometimes staying later than the rest just to explore the possibility of content and color that would look good on garments.

Hot Tubes Inc.

I worked at Hot Tubes in Shirley, MA from February 2021 - June 2022. My colleague Jordan Low was a great help in teaching me the ropes of this field. After his leave I became the Lead Custom Designer and Painter.

I created designs and graphics for bicycles for high-profile clients and identified creative direction for custom paint. With my abilities, I was able to bring my designs from concept to completion.

You can find our work on Instagram.

Minuteman Press

I worked as a Graphic Designer for Minuteman Press in Andover, MA between October 2022 - April 2024. I communicated with businesses and individuals to assist them with the creation of their jobs. I prepared print-quality files and assisted in production when needed. If you are looking to get something done for your business or personal, click the link below!
