McKenzie’s Senior Thesis Exhibition
Merge Visible
McKenzie's Senior Thesis Exhibition was held May 8th-12th, 2017, at the Student Union Art Gallery, located on the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus. The Exhibition consisted of prints that she made digitally in photoshop. McKenzie's thesis allowed her to demonstrate the knowledge that she gained over the four years of attending college. With the printmaking art pieces she created and her skills in photoshop, she was able to merge these two paths to create a new body of work. Bringing old and new artwork into the digital world allowed her to push her work further. In photoshop, McKenzie overlayed, collaged, cut, saturated, and edited the realms of her art that she could not have been able to do outside of the digital world. This exploration gave her another way to create and recreate the old with the new and finally merge them visible.
Below are all nine pieces that were featured in her Exhibition. Each one was titled after a song that helped motivate the process of making that individual artwork.
